Here's a little look into the world of the Eel Prince. Although he primarily functions as a more meta exploration of 'original character' culture, he's not without context. The Eel Prince originates from a series of episodic dreams I had in 2021. This particular piece is a 'redraw' of an original work from 2021, based on a moment from the penultimate dream.

I painted on top of grayscale using the 'colour' blending mode in order to achieve greater control over the values, as that was one thing that I thought the original was lacking.
This also shows the goat-like foetus creature ('The Ugliest') off in clearer detail, as I sketched him on top of the green cyst before using 'overlay' to make him appear encased.

This artwork is a tribute to the album of the same name by Fever the Ghost. Zirconium Meconium is one of my favourite albums of all time, and has influenced my work for years. It is a monumental work to me...
This was created over the summer before I joined my new school, and is my first 'VAC' entry. As the composition suggests, I was feeling hopeful at the time. The creature is adapted from the album cover, but depicted instead as springing forth from water into a blue sky. You can see the early development of a focus on reflective surfaces, which progressed further during my time in Sixth Form.
